  After taking my car to our family's go-to mechanic for an oil change, they informed me of two leaks in the valve cover & timing chain cover, however they did not have the tools required to perform the work. So I brought my car to Audi Sugar Land and was charged $160 for a "diagnostic" fee which told me exactly what I already knew was wrong with my car. I was told this money could be put towards the work, and I wrongly assumed it would be a semi-reasonable price. The quote came back for these repairs at $1800. I sent the exact services as recommended by Audi to two other mechanics in downtown Houston that specialize in foreign cars and both shops came back with $730 for the work.
  I understand that dealerships are going to be more expensive than other shops, but to charge more than TWICE what two other reputable shops quoted is absurd.
  I asked to use the $160 towards other services and was told it had to be used for the service that the car was originally brought in for, which seems ridiculous but after receiving the quote, not surprising.
  
  This is not a review on the customer service as everyone I interacted with was very friendly.
